About This Collection
I remember the first time I went fly fishing on my own. I camped at the Russian River and woke at 4am. I was (and still am) a novice. My casts were not the most graceful. But then, in an instant, my bead sank, my rod bent, my heart leapt - I had a fish! Tenderly holding the trout underwater so I could release my hook, the world felt buoyant, connected, spiritual. That morning, a brown bear fished upstream from me - close enough to keep me on my toes, far away enough for me to appreciate its beauty. This series of images is for everyone who loves the magic of fly fishing.
