"Tsalteshi Trails Map" is a celebration of our local trails and the people who love them. Tsałt'eshi means "Black Stone Axe Ridge in Dena'ina Athabaskan, and is the traditional place name for the ridge that roughly parallels the Kenai River (Kahtnu). It has been a transportation corridor for local indigenous people for thousands of years. I am grateful for their past and present stewardship of the land.
