About the Work
Play explores spontaneity and joy through loose, intuitive mark-making, inviting lightness and experimentation. Swirling indigo forms move across the surface alongside gestural, leaf-like shapes, creating a sense of lightness, motion, and openness.
Created outdoors during a summer afternoon in the Kenai Mountains, this small triptych reflects a return to curiosity and experimentation - painting without expectation, judgement, or destination. The work invites ease, presence, and the simple pleasure of making.
This piece was exhibited in close conversation with the triptych Support, reflecting the relationship between safety and freedom.
